About
Built to last
Ozark's square has been the center of town since the county was founded. The buildings around it were put up by people who expected them to last, and most of them have, because each generation since has chosen to maintain them rather than let them go.
The Ozark Historic River District carries that work forward today. We help property owners repair and restore their buildings, support the businesses that operate inside them, and host events like Sunset on the Square that bring people together downtown throughout the year.

Thank you to everyone who came out to the Sunset on the Square concerts this summer. Over 1k attendees across four events.
The District
Take a look around.
Walk the district, look up at the buildings, and learn who was here before you.
Get Involved
Come be part of the work.
We're a small group of people who care about this place. Whether you're from here, just moved here, or anywhere in between, we'd love to have you join us. Everybody brings something different and we try to match people with work they enjoy or want to try.
Volunteer
Volunteering is a good way to meet your neighbors and see what goes into events like Sunset on the Square and the Haunted Walking Tour. You can help out for a single night or join a committee if you'd like a bigger say in what happens downtown.
